we are living in…

Psst… Ouch! The hot glue landing on my hand

My phone rang, it’s my best friend from middle school

Her father passed away, who’s 2 years younger than my old man

………………………………

I have been working on a series of paintings

About the COVID-19

This time I am working on glue gun, while I am painting a home scenery background

I want to keep the virus away from my painting

Virus-free life

………………………………

Virus did not take my best friend’s father away

His illness and old age did

It is reminding me of the shortness of life

It is reminding me of my old parents who are in somewhere thousands of miles away

Thank to the technology that we can talk and see each other through the screen

Although I’d rather be there with them, in this unusual period of time

Therefore, I’d be the one to go out to fetch the food, not them

………………………………

Mother said they Check their temperature and blood pressure everyday

They take their medications everyday

They stay at home almost all the time

They wear masks when they go out

She said my father is not going downstairs as often as he should

I guess to climbing up and down of 4 floors is getting tougher on him

………………………………

They are safe and sound, so far

The news breaks out: Wuhan lifted the Lockdown

Now it is our turn, to stay at home

………………………………

I peeled off the hot glue off my hand
